In general, I agree with you: I feel that people who share interests with the OTW's mission and/or methods but are org outsiders would be the most valuable sort of Advisor. And I definitely think simultaneous service as Advisor and any sort of leadership position in the org makes no sense. Thanks for noting these concerns! =)
